While both shows we host are held at the grounds of the Montcalm Township Complex (located on M-91 just 7 miles north of Greenville, MI), we try to make each show different from the other.
The "Spring Fling Auto Show" is held the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The show is a traditional auto show open to all makes, models, years and misc. We do awards to the "Top 75" plus, (participant voting). we also try to add a little extra into the show by having a special tribute class. In the past we have done tributes to the Fairlane, GTO, El Camino, Classic Convertibles, Pre 1935, Street Rods, Cougars, Custom Vans, Nova, Dart, Demons and Dusters. For 2017 we will be doing a tribute to Buicks of all years. Where members of our staff get to pick out 5 Buicks for a special award. There will also be a drawing for anyone displaying in the tribute class. There will be a special memorial award in Honor of Family and Friends Lost. We also have a Best of Show award which also includes having the winning vehicle on next year's dash plaque. There will be dash plaques and goodie bags to the first 200 entries as well as door prizes thru out the day.
The "Poker Run/Car Show/Color Tour" is held the last Sunday in September. This is our favorite event so we try to combine as much fun as we can into this event. This is a very busy shows for all of us from start to finish. The morning starts out as a regular car show with voting ending at 11:30am. The Poker Run is then an optional part of the show. The drive is 55 miles with 7 different stops along the way. It is not a timed even so we encourage every one to enjoy the drive. While cars are gone on the run we are busy counting voting ballots. For the participants who remain behind, we keep the music and fun going. As vehicles return from the run, we work to see who wins the awards for Best Hand, Worst Hand, four Only If awards and several other misc hands. Soon after that we give away the raffle prizes, the Poker Run awards and the Top 70 awards and Best of Show. After that we wish everyone a safe drive home. As the cars drive away, we hope everyone survives the upcoming Michigan winter and pick up all our gear. Wow, what a great day.
